$25,530 with 4x4, the 5.7 Hemi and in a good color. It’s too bad my local dealer doesn’t have any like this at that price point, or else I’d be right there.

Well, it’s large ... fuel inefficient. Spacious, blue ... I’m running out of things to say ....
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:02 |

It also has chrome bumpers
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:05 |

And a large grill, and ... an exaggerated hood for what’s underneath, I think. Eeeesh ... this is not easy.

That’s pretty cheap man. Have it transfered from that dealer to your local one for pickup.

uhmmmm, there a transmission and hmmmmmmmm
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:09 |

Is that a thing?
I know that Carmax does that.

You really want to drive ANYTHING but that Jetta, huh?
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:29 |

Hold out for an Ecodiesel. If you're sold on a Ram, you may as well get the best engine.
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:29 |

Nah, I want the Hemi.
If I was going to get a diesel, it would be in the form of a Cummins Ram 2500.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a good car, but it’s definitely not the car for me.
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:36 |

Wow, now you’re getting desperate. At this rate, you’ll be posting a ‘96 Camry SE Coupe by next Thursday!

6 speed automatic?
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:39 |

Never that far, hah.
I just want to get rid of it, buy something I actually like driving and lose as little money as possible...
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:41 |

Three tall tasks. 2/3 would be a success (the first two).
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:44 |

Yup, I’ve come to accept that the resale on these cars is complete shit (For the lack of a better term.)
I was about to have a giant rant about this car, but I’ll refrain.
![]() 04/13/2016 at 20:48 |

I actually sat down and calculated how much money I’ve “lost” on cars in the last six years... I won’t be doing that to myself again.

You’re missing out. The only advantage of the Hemi is the exhaust note. We’ve got a handful of each at work, and the diesels are the quicker truck, all the while getting better mpg than the absolutely gutless 4-banger Colorado’s we picked up a couple months ago.
![]() 04/13/2016 at 21:08 |

If the dealer that has the truck wants to sell it they will. Your local dealer will probably transfer (trade) a vehicle back to them. I have never done this, but my dad did this numerous times.
I.e. Buy a car in another state or at a different delear and have the local dealer prep it. Local dealer (small town, 1 for each brand) probably hated him, but they tried to screw him over once. So that was his way of sticking it to them lol.
![]() 04/13/2016 at 21:09 |

And that big black plastic piece above the chrome. Always hated that. I’ve seen some dealers actually paint that goofy plastic.

Huh, good to know!
It’s like a cross country exchange though, haha.
![]() 04/13/2016 at 21:16 |

Oh jeez ha.
This happened in TX, and I remember a car coming from Colorado and another from Ohio among others...so xcountry may not be out of line.
![]() 04/13/2016 at 21:21 |
|
This would be like Idaho to Virginia, haha.
![]() 04/13/2016 at 21:27 |

Noticeably further than OH->TX. Wouldn’t hurt to ask though. All they can say is no...
![]() 04/13/2016 at 21:35 |

Eh, the Ecodiesel hasn’t had the best reliability track record so far.

I like the back up camera suggested line - “just keep going, don’t mind the garden and bushes, you’ll be fine.”

True I guess. We’ve had two of the four take rides back to the dealer, but neither was really the fault of the truck. One was a bad starter motor, supposedly due to being assembled in a humid environment and then taking delivery at -30, freezing broke it the morning after it got here (apparently a common problem) and the other was user error, the driver ignored the dpf-filter-80%-full-drive-me-on-the-highway warning. But both fixes were warrantied, and with 25,000 miles between them so far no other issues. The driver above also refused to use the block heater and dead-cold-starts at -35 haven’t had any noticeable effects yet. He’s not using the truck right now and I’ve been driving it for the last six weeks.

I’d spend the couple of extra bucks and get this one.

For $28K that’s a steal.

Hey,
Dunno if you know, but I have a 2015 5.7L 4WD Quad Cab... want to know anythingg?
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:32 |
|
Yes, I do know. And your truck looks awesome. I reread your review on it a couple times.
How does the interior hold up? If I could, I’d have vinyl seats. But that light colored cloth looks like it would stain quite easily.
Also, how’s the power delivery? Does it drive like a truck, or is it kind of a different feel.
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:35 |
|
The interior is pretty okay, not many complaints. Fit and finish is better than I expected... but at the same time it’s not a luxury car.
Power is smooth and refined... it’s very comfortable and it doesn’t really feel like a truck unless you’re on a rough/unpaved road. You will definitely notice the size when parking, though that’s pretty much true for all fullsize trucks.
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:38 |

All true, thanks!
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:39 |
|
Sure. Let me know what you end up with!
also if you need running boards and/or bed cover buy that on your own. The dealer ones are $$$
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:41 |

Will do!
I’m leaning towards a Tradesman model because metal bumpers, I want something that I don’t have to baby or worry about.
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:44 |
|
Good call... mine’s an Express... the rear bumper is painted metal
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:45 |
|
Also, how do you like the shifter-knob thingy.
I’m partial to column shifters in trucks.
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:48 |
|
Don’t mind it. Works as it should... if you need to shift manually there are buttons on the steering wheel.
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:50 |

True, ever taken it offroad?
There’s some power line trails that I’ve been on before in an old Exploder, seemed fun, but couldn’t go too far because no traction.
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:52 |
|
It goes offroad every day cause these roads here are SHIT
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:55 |
|
Your roads are probably much shittier, but here in Northern Va I swear they repair them to make them even worse every once and a while.
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:58 |
|
Last weekend I was in Florida and the roads there are infinitely better than here in Long Island.
![]() 04/14/2016 at 21:59 |

Florida does have good roads, except there’s too many old people on them for my liking.
